Police hospital cooperative credit union is a non-profit making organization working solely for the benefits of its members. It is a profit sharing, democratically run cooperative which offers convenient savings and low interest rate on loans to its members. The members own and manage their credit union themselves.
The union was first started by POLAS medical in October, 2009. Upon request, staff of the hospital who wanted to join was also registered. Since people who join the Credit Union must belong to a common bond, both the Police Personnel and civilian employees who are on the Police payroll were registered. Later membership was extended to all Police personnel when the Interim Management Committee (IMC) members of the Credit Union realized the great interest people expressed in voluntarily joining the union.
